Dressing Style: Roderick was commonly known for his sleek, stylish wardrobe. He was one who always wore a button up shirt with slacks and more often than not an overcoat as well. But, since his wife died he has become rather lazy with his appearance and usually wears basic articles of clothing.

History: Roderick was the first born of the Habichts and it was a joy to his father to have his first child a son. His parents weren't the richest of families, but they were happy with what they did have. His mother was a muggle who had found his father by an accidental run in. There had been a number of problems with their relationships in the beginning, but they had found a way to manage. During his earlier years of his life, Roderick was a boy who was always getting into trouble. He enjoyed exploring places he wasn't suppose to go and was always finding some way or another to bring some sort of bug or creature back home. At the age of four his mother had another child, a little sister that the boy absolutely loved. He was as close to his sister as anyone could possibly be. He did almost every thing with her and did whatever he could to protect her.

The two of them, while not in the same year, were a great team in Hogwarts. They would always be causing trouble at the school and were well known. He was placed in Ravenclaw while his sister was placed instead into Hufflepuff. But, even with their House separation, they were just as close as ever. As they went on in their life, Roderick found that he could never really be happy without being inside the walls of the great school of Hogwarts. And, it was with that that he made the decision to become a Professor at the school he had come to love. He began his years there as an intern at the age of twenty, spending his time in a number of classes before he finally decided on the ones that suited him best. Being the son of a muggle, Roderick was already familiar with many of the objects and procedures and was well accustomed with such studies. But, the History of Magic also captured his interest and, instead of choosing between the two, he took both classes up.

At the age of Twenty five, he found himself surprised when his sister shared with him of her engagement to her boyfriend Corneal. His parents had always believed he would be the first to marry as he was one who found his way around women easily, but such wasn't the case. Either way the family were more than happy, especially when, soon after their wedding, they found that a new member would be added to the family. Roderick was more than happy to become an uncle and in that same year he found the woman who he knew he could never compare to any other. Marissa was everything he had ever dreamed of and at the age of twenty nine the two finally tied the knot. They were as happy as any couple could be. For the first two years they allowed it to just be the two of them before trying to have a child of their own. Their attempts seemed to have failed each time though, which saddened the couple. But, their prayers were soon answered. The day Marissa found she was pregnant was the happiest day of their lives.

But, Roderick was given the joy of holding on to that happiness. Marissa was four months pregnant when Christmas came that year, and was unfortunately in the worse place at the most horrible time. The attack on the school was something that would never leave the young man's memory as he was forced to watch his wife and unborn daughter killed by one of the many Death Eaters that attacked the school. Even in the year that had past, Roderick has yet to fully recover from the loss of his wife and child, having fallen into a heavy depression that would often lead to bouts of drinking. But, he managed to pull through enough to continue on with the basics of life and giving what he could to his students.
